The goal of " Name Duel" is to enhance name recall and attention skills among participants in a fun and dynamic way. This game encourages quick thinking and helps participants get familiar with each other's names through a playful competition.
"Name Duel" is a lively and engaging activity where two teams compete to quickly recognize and call out the names of their opponents. Each team hides a member behind a large blanket or sheet. On cue, the blanket is dropped, and the revealed members must shout the name of the person opposite them before the other does. The quick recall of names and the element of surprise make this game an excellent icebreaker for new groups.
Divide the participants into two equal teams and have each team line up facing the other, with a blanket or sheet held up between them to block their view.
Each team secretly select one person to stand directly in front of the blanket on their side. Make sure the rest of the group can't see who is chosen.
On a signal (like a whistle or a shout), the blanket is quickly lowered. The two opposing members who are now visible to each other must try to be the first to correctly shout the opponent's name.
The person who calls out the name correctly first wins the duel. The slower person then joins the winning team.
Rotate new members into each round and continue the game until one team has significantly more members or as time allows.
• Encourage cheering and light-heartedness to keep the energy high and make the game enjoyable for everyone.
• Consider having a practice round if participants are still learning each other's names.
