The goal of "Mission Impossible" is to enhance teamwork, strategic thinking, and resource management as participants self-organize to complete a series of challenges within a limited timeframe.
"Mission Impossible" challenges a group to complete multiple, varied tasks within 60 minutes. Each task may require different skills and teamwork levels, with some needing full group participation and others executable by individuals or smaller groups. This activity emphasizes self-management and strategic planning, as participants receive no direct facilitation or task delegation from the leaders.
Provide the group with the Mission Impossible card, detailing all the tasks that need to be completed within the 60-minute timeframe.
Explain the rules to the participants, emphasizing that they must plan, delegate, and execute the tasks entirely on their own, without facilitator intervention or guidance.
Start the timer once the group is ready. Participants must quickly strategize and assign tasks to individuals or sub-teams based on their strengths and preferences.
When the time expires, the selected leader presents all completed tasks to the facilitator, explaining how each task was approached and accomplished.
Facilitate a group discussion to reflect on the exercise, focusing on the strategies employed, the distribution of roles, and how communication and cooperation were handled.
• You can use the provided template for tasks, but we recommend customizing it to fit the theme, nature, or age group of your participants. Tailoring the tasks can make the activity more relevant and engaging for your specific audience
• Encourage creativity and flexibility in task completion, allowing the group to approach challenges in their own way
• If the group manages to complete all tasks within the allotted time, consider offering a reward to further motivate and recognize their achievement
