The goal of this method is to foster teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking as participants work together to design, build, and fly paper airplanes. The activity encourages collaboration and innovation within the team.
The "Paper Airplane " is an engaging team-building exercise where teams compete to design and fly paper airplanes. The team whose airplane flies the farthest wins. This activity promotes creativity, strategic planning, and teamwork.
Divide participants into teams of 2-6 members each. Ensure that each team has an equal number of participants. Explain the rules: teams must design and build paper airplanes using A3 sheets of paper. The team whose airplane flies the farthest wins.
Provide each team with A2 sheets of paper and markers or pens for decoration. Allow teams 10-15 minutes to brainstorm, design, and build their paper airplanes. They can experiment with different designs and decorate their airplanes as they see fit.
Set up the launch area and mark a start line.
On the signal, teams take turns launching their paper airplanes from the start line. Each team member can take a turn, or the team can choose their best design to represent them. Measure the distance each airplane flies.
Determine the winner based on the farthest distance flown. Announce the winning team and celebrate with a small prize or recognition.
Facilitate a debriefing session to discuss the experience, focusing on teamwork, creativity, and strategic planning.
• Encourage teams to experiment with different airplane designs to find the most effective one
• Adjust the launch distance based on the group's abilities and fitness levels
• Consider timing the design and build phase to add an element of urgency and excitement
